Pakistan’s pace bowler, Mohammad Amir, faces uncertainty regarding his availability for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland, commencing on May 10th in Dublin. According to reports from Cricket Pakistan, Amir is likely to miss the T20I series due to delays in acquiring his visa.

While the Pakistan squad, led by Babar Azam, departed for Dublin on Tuesday, Amir, a UK permanent resident, did not accompany them. The first T20I is scheduled to take place at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground on May 10th.

Amir’s Visa Woes Disrupt Ireland Tour Plans

Amir’s visa application encountered complications, resulting in its initial rejection, unlike other team members whose visas were processed smoothly. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not disclosed the specific reasons for Amir’s visa denial.

Efforts are underway, with the PCB and the Ireland Cricket Board collaborating to reapply for Amir’s visa. However, despite these efforts, Amir’s visa has yet to be issued, leading to uncertainty regarding his travel arrangements.

The PCB remains in close contact with the Ireland Board to expedite Amir’s visa approval. Nonetheless, Amir’s departure to Ireland remains uncertain, with no definitive timeline established. Discussions are underway regarding the possibility of Amir joining the team in England instead, with a final decision expected in due course.
