Former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez recently spoke out against the decision to appoint foreign coaches for the national men’s team.

In an interview with Geo News, Hafeez, who briefly served as the team’s director, argued against accusing local coaches of favoritism.

Hafeez expressed disappointment with former PCB chairman Najam Sethi’s comments about nepotism among local coaches, stating that Pakistan boasts cricketing legends who are respected worldwide.

The coaching staff for Pakistan’s men’s team will be announced after the series against New Zealand. According to reports, Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie have been chosen as head coaches for white-ball and red-ball cricket, respectively.

Currently, Pakistan is playing a five-match T20I series against New Zealand at home. The team is currently trailing 2-1 and needs to win the final match to level the series.
