In the realm of T20 cricket, Bangladesh is witnessing a surge in talent, with two seasoned players making significant strides up the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, thanks to their stellar performances against Zimbabwe.

As Bangladesh dominates the ongoing five-match series against Zimbabwe, their prowess with the ball has been particularly notable, setting the stage for their triumphs.

Among the standout performers, seamer Taskin Ahmed and spinner Sheikh Mahedi Hasan have been instrumental in Bangladesh’s success. Taskin’s impressive six-wicket haul, with an enviable average of 8.83, across three matches against Zimbabwe catapulted him six places up to 26th in the latest T20I bowler rankings, marking a career-high rating.

Similarly, Mahedi’s notable contributions earned him a commendable six-spot rise to jointly occupy the 22nd spot in the same rankings, courtesy of his three wickets from two matches against the African side.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s right-arm quick, Blessing Muzarabani, showcased his prowess by climbing five places to secure the 69th position in the list of T20I bowlers, following his impressive four scalps against Bangladesh.

On the batting front, the emergence of young talent Towhid Hridoy has been a revelation. The 23-year-old right-hander has emerged as the leading run-scorer in the series, elevating himself from beyond the top 100 to jointly hold the 90th spot in the T20I rankings for batters, courtesy of his impressive tally of 127 runs and two unbeaten innings against Zimbabwe.

Amidst these individual feats, seasoned campaigner Mahmudullah also made a notable jump, ascending two places to jointly occupy the 81st spot in the T20I rankings for batters. However, it’s India’s Suryakumar Yadav who continues to dominate the T20I batting rankings with an undisputed lead.
