The 64th match of IPL 2025 sees Gujarat Titans hosting Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While GT have already sealed a playoff spot and are pushing for a top-two finish, LSG are out of the qualification race and playing for pride.
One notable absence in LSG’s lineup is their key spinner, Digvesh Rathi. Here’s why he’s not part of the playing XI for this clash.
Why Is Digvesh Rathi Not Playing?
Rathi was handed a one-match suspension by the IPL following an on-field incident in LSG’s previous match. The spinner was involved in a heated exchange with SRH opener Abhishek Sharma after dismissing him. His aggressive send-off sparked a verbal spat between the two, forcing the umpires to intervene.

As a consequence, Rathi was fined 50% of his match fee and suspended for one game due to breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. With Rathi sidelined, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant has brought in Shahbaz Ahmed as a like-for-like spin option.
