The DDCA released the list on Thursday afternoon, which includes players currently part of Delhi’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad along with 50 additional cricketers. The association also confirmed that Kohli and Pant will be available for selection, marking a significant boost for the state side ahead of the prestigious domestic tournament.
Kohli gearing up through domestic cricket ahead of 2027 World Cup
Virat Kohli has been in impressive form recently, shining in the home ODI series against South Africa. Despite enduring back-to-back ducks during the Australia tour, he bounced back with a commanding half-century in Sydney, helping India avoid a clean sweep. He then dominated South Africa, finishing as India’s leading run scorer in the series with 302 runs in three innings at an average of 151 and a strike rate of 117.05.
Reports suggest the BCCI wants Kohli to feature in domestic cricket to maintain optimum match readiness as part of long-term preparations for the 2027 World Cup.
Kohli has played just twelve matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy across two seasons, averaging 69.36, but has yet to win the title with Delhi.
