On Tuesday, January 21, India’s U19 women’s team took on Malaysia in their second match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2025. The Girls in Blue delivered a dominant performance, restricting the hosts to a mere 31 runs.
The bowlers were in top form, with Vaishnavi Sharma stealing the show by entering the history books. Sharma delivered a sensational four-over spell, taking a five-wicket haul and finishing with remarkable figures of 5/5.
Vaishnavi Sharma’s Record-Breaking Hat-Trick
Vaishnavi became the first-ever Indian U19 women’s cricketer to claim a hat-trick in World Cup history. The milestone came during the 14th over when the left-arm spinner dismissed Ain LBW on the second ball. She followed it up by trapping Nur Isma Dania in front of the stumps for her second wicket. On the hat-trick delivery, Sharma spotted a gap and bowled around the leg-stump to outfox the batter, completing the historic feat.
