Vaishnavi Sharma earns first ODI call-up as BCCI announces India squad for Australia series

The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee has named strong India Women’s squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series in Australia. The squad for the one-off Test between the two sides will be announced at a later date, the BCCI confirmed on its official website.

Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead India Women as captain, with senior opener Smriti Mandhana appointed her deputy for the white-ball leg of the Australian tour.


India Retains Several World Cup 2025 Stars for Australian Tour

Ahead of the all-format tour, the BCCI unveiled India’s T20I and ODI squads roughly a month before the series begins. Apart from captain Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, the T20I squad includes key players such as Shafali Verma, Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, ace spinner Shreyanka Patil, legendary all-rounder Deepti Sharma, and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh.

For the ODI series, the selection committee retained several 2025 World Cup winners, including Deepti Sharma, the ‘Player of the Tournament’, and Shafali Verma, the ‘Player of the Match’ in the final. Other notable inclusions are Renuka Thakur, wicketkeepers Richa Ghosh and G Kamalini, and middle-order star Harleen Deol.

  • One-off Test: Dates and squad to be announced

This series will mark the first India vs Australia Women clash since their blockbuster semifinal at the 2025 Women’s World Cup, promising an exciting contest for fans down under.
