The Rajasthan Royals’ 10-day pre-season camp has been designed to prepare players for the upcoming domestic campaign. Equipped with multiple soil-specific practice wickets that replicate various domestic conditions, the academy provides an ideal environment for red-ball cricket. Alongside Sooryavanshi, the camp also features Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma, Shubham Dubey, Ravi Singh, and Sushant Mishra.
According to the franchise, the programme combines technical skill development, strength and conditioning, workload management, recovery, and performance analysis, with each player following a personalised training plan to ensure they are fully prepared for the demands of the domestic season.
Rajasthan Royals’ Head of Operations Romi Bhinder said the High Performance Centre was established to create a world-class environment where players can continue their development throughout the year, rather than only during the IPL season.
Coach Vikram Rathour also highlighted the importance of the pre-season period, stating that every player arrives with different goals, whether it is improving technical skills, enhancing fitness, or preparing for domestic cricket. He added that the academy’s tailored training programmes help ensure every cricketer is ready for the challenges ahead.
Sooryavanshi has another major responsibility awaiting him in the Duleep Trophy 2026, where he has been appointed vice-captain of the East Zone squad, led by Ishan Kishan. The prestigious domestic tournament is scheduled to begin in Bengaluru on August 23, offering the teenage star another opportunity to showcase his talent in red-ball cricket.
