The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash at the Champions Trophy 2025 in the UAE is generating immense excitement. Subhan Ahmed, the Chief Operating Officer of the Emirates Cricket Board, has confirmed that tickets for this high-profile match will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. “We expect a record-breaking crowd, with fans from both nations eager to witness this thrilling contest,” Ahmed said.
He also highlighted the cultural significance of the match, explaining, “With a large population of Indians and Pakistanis living in the UAE, these matches become more than just cricket—they turn into a vibrant celebration of both sport and culture.” Ahmed further emphasized the unique atmosphere surrounding the event: “Fans come together to support their teams, creating an electric environment that is truly one-of-a-kind. We’re confident these matches will provide unparalleled excitement and unwavering support from the stands.”
Ahmed also assured fans that the UAE is fully prepared for the event, stating, “We’re committed to making sure that cricket enthusiasts can enjoy the matches without any hassle. The UAE boasts excellent facilities and strong government support, making it an ideal location for hosting major events, even on short notice.”
In tournament news, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced in December that India’s games in the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held at neutral venues, diverging from the original plan of Pakistan being the sole host. As a result, Pakistan will not visit India for any ICC tournaments until 2028, with future fixtures to be played at neutral locations.
The tournament is scheduled for February 19 to March 9, 2025, although the full match schedule is still under discussion. Despite initial opposition to the hybrid model by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a compromise was reached.
This move, marking the first significant directive since Jay Shah became ICC chair, aims to streamline logistics for upcoming events, including the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
