Bowling has been Gujarat Titans’ backbone since their IPL debut, and it’s been no different in IPL 2025, with the team securing 4 wins in 6 games. But despite the strong start, concerns linger over the form and availability of two key stars — Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada.
🌀 Rashid Khan’s Dip in Form
One of the most consistent match-winners in T20 cricket, Rashid Khan has struggled to find rhythm this season — picking up just 4 wickets in 22 overs at an economy of 9.77 and an average of 53.75.
GT assistant coach Aashish Kapoor shed light on the issue:
“When you’re playing through pain, like Rashid did last year before his back surgery, you unknowingly tweak your action to cope. This season, we’ve worked on minor technical adjustments — especially his front hand positioning. He’s already showing signs of improvement in the last couple of games. Once his confidence is back, we’ll see the Rashid we all know.”

Rabada’s Return Awaited
Meanwhile, GT are also without speedster Kagiso Rabada, who has flown to South Africa to deal with personal matters. Kapoor remains hopeful about his return:
“We’re just waiting. If things get sorted in time, he’ll be back. But right now, we have no confirmed date.”
Rabada has played 2 matches this season, picking up 1 wicket each but proving expensive in both outings.
GT’s next match is against Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad on Saturday evening, and the team will be hoping for a full-strength bowling unit soon.
