Bangladesh has selected Mohammad Saifuddin for the initial three T20Is against Zimbabwe. The squad also includes Tanvir Islam, Afif Hossain, Tanzid Hasan, and Parvez Hossain.
Saifuddin’s last T20I appearance for Bangladesh was in October 2022 before the T20 World Cup due to a back injury. He returned during the BPL, where he performed well for Fortune Barishal.
Tanzid Hasan, a left-handed opener, earns his first T20I call-up after playing 15 ODIs since his debut last year.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman won’t be part of the squad for the first three matches. Shakib is expected to join after a DPL match, while Mustafizur will arrive after his IPL stint and undergo a fitness check before the last two T20Is.
Anamul Haque, Taijul Islam, and Mohammad Naim are excluded from the squad, while Soumya Sarkar is still recovering from a knee injury.
The first three T20Is will take place in Chattogram on May 3, 5, and 7, with the final two in Dhaka on May 10 and 12.
