Narayan Jagadeesan to lead Tamil Nadu in SMAT 2025

With Chakravarthy away on national duty, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has appointed vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan as the stand-in captain for the SMAT season, confirmed on Wednesday, December 3.

Additionally, IPL star Sai Sudharsan has been named Tamil Nadu’s new vice-captain for the season.

Chakravarthy is likely to miss no more than two SMAT matches. He will lead Tamil Nadu against Tripura at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on December 4 but may sit out the Elite Group B clash against Jharkhand on December 6 and the subsequent fixture versus Saurashtra on December 8.

India’s five-match T20I series against South Africa begins on December 9 in Cuttack and concludes on December 19 in Ahmedabad, well before Tamil Nadu’s next SMAT match against Puducherry on December 24 at the same venue.
