Suresh Raina, the fourth-highest run-scorer in the Indian premier league (IPL), did not get the team in this year’s auction. This time he is returning in a new role, Raina will be associated with commentary in the tournament.

Raina will also give commentary on the field in the previous seasons. He played the IPL himself till 2021. That’s why it was not possible for him to give commentary for so long. But this time Raina went unsold at the IPL mega auction. So he will be available in a completely different role in the IPL.

It’s not just Raina. Ravi Shastri is back in his old role in the IPL. Earlier, it was reported that the former coach of the Indian team could also be seen in the role of a coach in the IPL. He also had offers from many franchise teams. But none of that happened. Instead, Ravi Shastri is also associated with the IPL as a commentator.

Ravi Shastri, however, is set to return as a commentator for the first time since he was appointed team India’s head coach in 2017. Both Suresh Raina and Ravi Shastri will be part of the Hindi commentary team.

According to a source in the Indian media, a source in the tournament authorities said, “As you all know, Raina will not be participating in the IPL this time. But we somehow wanted to associate him with the tournament. He has a lot of fan-following and everyone knows him as Mr. IPL. For Shastri, he was part of the Star Sports English commentary team. But he didn’t comment after the Champions Trophy final in 2017. After that, he was appointed as India’s head coach. ’
