Sri Lanka has announced their playing XI for the second Test against England, starting at Lord’s on Thursday.
They’ve made two key changes: Lahiru Kumara and Pathum Nissanka come in for Vishwa Fernando and Kusal Mendis.
Kusal Mendis is dropped after poor performance in the first Test, where he scored 24 and 0. Pathum Nissanka, who last played in 2022 and averages 38.35, will bat at number three.
Vishwa Fernando, who took two wickets in the first innings but none in the second, is replaced by Lahiru Kumara. This change means Sri Lanka will not have a left-arm fast bowler in this match.
The wicketkeeping situation is also affected. Dinesh Chandimal, who was injured in the first Test but scored 79, is expected to keep if fit. Nishan Madushka is on standby if Chandimal cannot play.
