The three T20Is will be played on October 9, 11 and 13. Experienced fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been included in the squad, although his selection remains subject to fitness.
Former white-ball captain Charith Asalanka has not been included in the squad.
Sahan Arachchige, who is currently part of Sri Lanka’s second-string squad at the Asian Games, has also been selected. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Binura Fernando and Nuwan Thushara are the other players from the Asian Games squad included for the Pakistan tour.
Chameera’s fitness will be closely monitored before the team’s departure, with his availability for the T20I series yet to be confirmed.
The T20I series will be the first part of a lengthy Sri Lankan tour of Pakistan. After the three matches in Rawalpindi, Sri Lanka will participate in an ODI tri-series involving Pakistan and England from October 18 to 31. The tour will then conclude with a two-match Test series beginning on November 9.
