Shami recently announced the good news of his successful surgery on his right Achilles tendon in London on social media. Although he acknowledged that the healing process will take some time, he is hopeful that he will soon be able to resume his activities.
Sadly, Shami’s absence will cause the Gujarat Titans to suffer a serious blow. They traded Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal and appointed Shubman Gill as their new captain. Shami hasn’t played any cricket since India’s ODI World Cup, where he played a crucial role, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets in seven matches, boasting an impressive average of 10.70 and a strike rate of 12.20.
