Shaheen Shah Afridi climbed to the top of the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings on Wednesday. He earned this spot after taking eight wickets at an average of 12.62 in Pakistan’s series win over Australia. Afridi jumped three places, moving past South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, who dropped to third. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan stayed in second.
Afridi had previously held the top spot during the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Haris Rauf, who was named Player of the Series in Pakistan’s 2-1 win over Australia, moved up 14 spots to 13th, achieving his career-high rating. Naseem Shah also improved, moving up 14 places to joint 55th.
Now, both the top-ranked bowler and batter are from Pakistan. Babar Azam extended his lead over India’s Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli after scoring 80 runs in three matches against Australia.
Pakistan’s new white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, also climbed two spots to joint 23rd in the ODI batting rankings, following his 74 runs against Australia.

Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, who is set to retire from ODIs, remains at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings, followed by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and Rashid Khan.
