Pakistan’s fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi, has achieved the title of Pakistan’s highest-rated T20I bowler according to the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday. Afridi has climbed two spots to secure the 17th position overall among T20I bowlers.

The ICC took note of Afridi’s impressive showing in Pakistan’s current Twenty20 International series against New Zealand, where he has taken the most wickets in the first three games. In the second match of the series, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by a commanding seven wickets, and he claimed three wickets for 13 runs.

Afridi’s rise in the rankings has surpassed his teammate and fellow fast bowler, Haris Rauf, who is now in 22nd place. The top spot in the T20I bowling rankings is held by England’s Adil Rashid, while New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi has gained five spots to reach 18th position after taking three wickets against Pakistan.

In the T20I batting rankings, India’s Suryakumar Yadav leads the list, with New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and Mark Chapman also making gains. Seifert climbed three places to 24th position, while Chapman jumped 12 places to 33rd after his impressive unbeaten half-century in the third game of the series against Pakistan.

Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, has slipped one place to fifth position in the T20I batting rankings, while Mohammad Rizwan remains in third place.
