In a significant development, Shah Khawar, Pakistan Cricket Board’s Election Commissioner, has been appointed as the interim chief of PCB. The transition of leadership took place at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, marked by a warm welcome from PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, directors, and staff, who greeted Khawar with flowers. Today, Khawar will delve into crucial briefings on key matters from officials.

Taking on the role of interim chairman, Khawar will bear the responsibilities until the forthcoming PCB elections. Meanwhile, the current nominee for PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi, will assume a position on the governing board. The details of the Board of Governors’ formation will be officially disclosed in the near future.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Shah Khawar acknowledged the trust placed in him by PCB Patron Mr. Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, emphasizing his commitment to conducting the Chairman PCB election in a transparent and unbiased manner at the earliest opportunity.

Sources reveal that Khawar will now oversee the PCB elections, with Naqvi vying for the chairman position. If elected, Naqvi is poised to serve as the new chairman for a three-year term.
