Reports say Samson was travelling from Kozhikode to Coimbatore when he paused around 5:15 pm to take a phone call. At the same time, Shabareesh, a cable technician from Katampazhippuram, and his friend Manikandan were on their way to a nearby ground in Mangalankunnu to play cricket. Spotting a familiar face inside a parked car, they realized it was Samson himself.

While on a video call, Samson noticed them and gestured politely to wait. After finishing the call, he stepped out, greeted them warmly, inquired about their well-being, and offered to take a photograph. Shabareesh clicked a selfie using his own phone, which had a visibly damaged screen. Observing this, Samson quietly opened the back of his car and gifted him a brand-new smartphone, reportedly worth around ₹30,000.

The unexpected gesture left Shabareesh and his friend stunned and deeply moved. After a brief chat, Samson continued his journey, leaving behind a truly memorable moment for the fans.

This touching act comes amid a challenging phase for Samson in the ongoing IPL season. Despite playing crucial knocks during the T20 World Cup, he has struggled since joining Chennai Super Kings, scoring 6, 7, and 9 in his first three matches. The team also remains winless so far.

The five-time champions will face Delhi Capitals in their fourth game on Saturday, April 11, at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, hoping to open their account in the 19th edition of the tournament.
