Wishing the “SuperNatural Superstar,” Samson captioned his Instagram post:
“Happiest birthday… My SuperNatural Superstar Rajni sir.”

The cricketer previously met Rajinikanth at his residence in March 2023, fulfilling a childhood dream. Sharing a picture with the cinematic icon on X (formerly Twitter), Samson wrote:
“At the age of 7, already being a Super Rajni fan, I told my parents… ‘See, one day I will go and meet Rajni sir in his house.’ After 21 years, that day has come when The Thalaivar invited me.”

Cricketing Context

Samson is part of India’s T20I squad for the ongoing five-match home series against South Africa, but he was benched for the first two games, with Jitesh Sharma taking the wicketkeeping role. The series is currently tied 1-1, with the third T20I scheduled at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, on Sunday, December 14.

After India’s 51-run loss in the second T20I at Mullanpur on December 11, former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock suggested that Samson should not be immediately brought into the playing XI. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:
“I don’t think they’ll do it now as it’ll be making too much of a statement. They didn’t change when they won, so they should do the same thing when they lose. One more game, and maybe they’ll look to change after that.”

Samson was also dropped during India’s five-match T20I series in Australia in October, where he scored 2 off 4 balls in the second match and did not bat in the opening fixture due to rain. Overall, he has amassed 995 runs from 43 innings at a strike rate of 147.40 in T20 cricket
