Leading the Indian contingent is Sanju Samson, who was also crowned Player of the Tournament after scoring 321 runs in just five innings. Samson began the tournament outside India’s starting XI but quickly became indispensable with Player of the Match performances against the West Indies and England. He capped off the campaign with a record-breaking 89 in the final against New Zealand — the highest individual score in a Men’s T20 World Cup final.
Joining him are Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Kishan amassed 317 runs, the fourth-highest in the tournament, anchoring India’s top-order with a strike rate of 193.29. His memorable 77 against Pakistan as an opener, followed by key knocks against England and New Zealand, including a half-century in the final, showcased his adaptability.
Pandya is recognized for his all-round brilliance, scoring two half-centuries and taking nine wickets, including a match-turning 52 off 28 against Namibia. Bumrah, the Player of the Match in the final, finished as the joint-leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets from eight matches, highlighted by four for 15 in the final and a tournament economy rate of just 6.21.
The team also features standout performers from other nations. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan topped the run charts with 383 runs, including two centuries. South Africa is represented by captain Aiden Markram, who scored 286 runs with three half-centuries, and Lungi Ngidi, who claimed 12 wickets at 15.58 apiece.
England contributes all-rounders Will Jacks and Adil Rashid, the West Indies is represented by Jason Holder, Zimbabwe by Blessing Muzarabani, and the USA by Shadley van Schalkwyk as the 12th player.
