Robi Axiata Seals 50 Crore Tk Sponsorship Pact with BCB for Bangladesh Cricket Team

Robi Axiata Limited, a prominent player in Bangladesh’s mobile network sector, has secured sponsorship rights for the Bangladesh national cricket team through a notable three-and-a-half-year deal with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The agreement, formalized at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur on Friday, entails Robi’s commitment to pay 50 crore taka to the BCB. Effective from February of this year until July 2027, this partnership underscores Robi’s dedication to supporting Bangladesh cricket.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury emphasized the potential for this alliance to propel Bangladesh cricket to new heights.

BCB’s quest for a new sponsor for the national team comes after the conclusion of its previous agreement with Daraz in November of the preceding year.

Robi’s history with the national team includes a prior stint as title sponsor, marked by a two-year contract signed in 2015 for 41.41 crore taka. Although their agreement was extended in 2017 with intentions to last until the 2019 World Cup, Robi opted to terminate the sponsorship deal in August 2018.
