Rizwan Ascends in ICC Test Batters Rankings in Latest Update

Mohammad Rizwan’s impressive performances in the recent Sydney Test against Australia have propelled him to the 17th spot on the ICC Men’s Test batters rankings, marking a 10-spot jump. Rizwan, who scored 88 and 28, emerged as Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in the series, accumulating a total of 193 runs despite participating in only two out of three matches. Sarfaraz Ahmed played the first Test with Rizwan on the bench.

In other notable changes, Marnus Labuschagne climbed three spots to fourth after scoring 60 and an unbeaten 62. Aiden Markram, with a second-innings century against India, rose nine spots to enter the top 20.

Among Indian batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma moved to sixth and 10th places, respectively.

In the bowling rankings, Jasprit Bumrah surpassed Ravindra Jadeja to claim the fourth spot. Mohammed Siraj’s impressive performance in the Newlands Test helped him achieve a career-high ranking of 17th. Kagiso Rabada, despite taking four wickets against India, slipped to second place as Pat Cummins overtook him. Cummins, who was named Player of the Series against Pakistan, secured the second position with six wickets.

Additionally, Josh Hazlewood’s five-wicket haul elevated him to a tie for seventh place with James Anderson, while Nathan Lyon dropped to 11th.
