India’s Rishabh Pant shared a fun moment with Australian legend Adam Gilchrist on Sunday. Before the start of Day 3, Pant playfully approached Gilchrist from behind, covering his eyes with both hands. Surprised, Gilchrist laughed and hugged Pant warmly. “I didn’t know who was behind me!” Gilchrist later said.
On the field, Australia, led by skipper Pat Cummins’ brilliant 5/57, secured a commanding 10-wicket win over India in the second Test at Adelaide Oval. Resuming at 128/5, India collapsed to 175 all out, with Nitish Kumar Reddy top-scoring with 42. Cummins’ sharp short-ball tactics dismantled the Indian batting, with crucial dismissals of Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana
Reddy fought back briefly with some aggressive strokes but was eventually caught attempting a ramp shot. Scott Boland wrapped up the innings, taking the final wicket. With this victory, Australia leveled the series 1-1. Both teams will now prepare for the third Test at The Gabba on December 14.
