Will Pucovski had to leave Victoria’s Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania in Hobart after getting hit on the helmet by a Riley Meredith bouncer. Pucovski, who has a history of concussions, took a short ball to the head on the second delivery he faced. Though he walked off the field unaided, Campbell Kellaway replaced him as the concussion substitute. Currently, Victoria is in the fourth innings, chasing 442.

Cricket Victoria stated that Pucovski is under medical observation, with more information to be provided later. The batsman has faced multiple concussions in his career and recently returned from another spell on the sidelines where he scored a century against New South Wales.

Pucovski has openly discussed the link between his mental health and concussions, mentioning that he has experienced symptoms over a prolonged period. He emphasized that mental health has been a more significant challenge for him than the concussions themselves. Despite these challenges, Pucovski played one Test for Australia in early 2021 against India at the SCG.
