After winning against Sylhet Strikers by 77 runs last Saturday, Shakib addressed the media. He humorously mentioned that he was at the press conference not because Sohan asked him, but because the captain ordered him to be there, saying, “It wasn’t a request, the captain ordered, and that’s why I am here.”
Despite not scoring many runs, Shakib took 2 wickets in the match, dismissing key batters Samit Patel and Mohammad Mithun. He bowled his quota of 4 overs, conceding 18 runs in the one maiden over.
Shakib is currently facing eye problems, affecting his batting performance. He has changed his head positioning but hasn’t found a solution yet.
In this context, Shakib said, “It’s hard to say. The more I score, the more comfortable I’ll feel. If I’m not scoring runs, I won’t find my rhythm, and the comfort zone won’t be there. It’s just natural.”
When asked if he feels disappointed for not meeting the expectations of batting, Shakib confidently replied, “No.” Despite not being able to perform well, Shakib expressed that he cannot complain as everyone goes through tough times.
He concluded with, “I understand that everything goes wrong in tough times.”
