Multan Sultans received a significant boost before their PSL season 9 match against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium on Sunday. Currently leading the PSL 9 points table with 10 points, the team, aiming for their second title, welcomed West Indies’ Johnson Charles, a dynamic wicket-keeper batter who joined the squad on Saturday.

Charles, known for his T20 World Cup victory in 2016 and record-breaking T20I century in 2023, adds confidence to Mohammad Rizwan’s side as they strive for their fourth consecutive PSL final appearance.

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings, sitting at fifth place with only two wins in five matches, faces challenges, especially with the absence of key player Kieron Pollard, who left for Mumbai. A victory on Sunday would extend Multan’s lead by four points, intensifying the pressure on second-placed Quetta Gladiators.

Despite concerns about rain, the Sindh government implemented a rain emergency in Karachi to ensure smooth PSL matches. Fortunately, the weather forecast indicates a clear and sunny day with no rain expected on Sunday, providing an uninterrupted match for Karachi and Multan.
