Peshawar Zalmi received a big boost as Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq confirmed his joining the team for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9. The announcement was made by Naveen on his official Instagram account. Babar Azam-led Zalmi, currently facing a challenging PSL 9 with two losses, will welcome the addition of the quality pacer to their lineup.
In the recent match, Karachi Kings secured a seven-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Karachi’s Kieron Pollard played a pivotal role in the win, scoring 49 runs in 21 balls with eight boundaries. Zalmi struggled initially, reaching 40-3 in 5.1 overs, but captain Babar Azam stabilized the innings, forming a crucial 68-run partnership with Rovman Powell. Despite Azam’s impressive 72 runs in 51 balls, Zalmi posted a total of 154 all out.
Karachi Kings successfully chased down the target, reaching 157-3 in 16.5 overs, with Pollard and James Vince leading the charge. The player of the match was awarded to Mir Hamza of Karachi Kings for his notable bowling performance (3-28) in the game.
