The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former first-class cricketer Shahid Aslam as the men’s team batting coach for the upcoming white-ball series in Zimbabwe.
This decision comes after Pakistan’s recent struggles in the batting department, particularly during the T20I series against Australia. Shahid’s appointment was recommended by interim white-ball head coach Aqib Javed, given his extensive experience in coaching batters.
Shahid has previously served in various support roles with the national team. His first assignment as batting coach will be the Zimbabwe tour, followed by a series in South Africa.
In the recent T20I series against Australia, Pakistan’s batting performance was underwhelming. Usman Khan was the only player to score a half-century, totaling 59 runs across three matches. Babar Azam managed just 47 runs, with a top score of 41.
