PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi raised concerns about the poor pitch conditions at Nassau Stadium and other inadequate arrangements with ICC officials just before the Pakistan-India match on Sunday.
Sources revealed that Naqvi, accompanied by PCB COO Salman Naseer, expressed dissatisfaction with the arrangements, fearing they could hinder efforts to promote cricket in the US.
“The PCB chairman discussed his concerns with ICC officials, warning that negative publicity wouldn’t help cricket in the US,” a source said.
Naqvi emphasized that the pitches, especially at Nassau Stadium, wouldn’t promote cricket in the US if scoring runs and hitting sixes were nearly impossible.
PCB officials were also unhappy with high ticket prices, lack of facilities for spectators, and complaints about inadequate facilities at the stadium. Media also faced issues with no restroom facilities on the 4th floor where the media box is located, forcing them to use public toilets on the ground level.
