Pakistan Players Grieve the Loss of Former U19 Manager Ali Zia

Ali Zia, a former cricketer and ex-senior GM at the National Cricket Academy, has passed away at the age of 66 in Lahore, as reported by Geo News on Saturday. His son, Hasan Zia, confirmed that Ali Zia had been getting treatment at a private hospital for the last ten days. Ali Zia had served as the manager of the Pakistan U19 teams and played various roles at the National Cricket Academy.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and several past and present cricket stars responded to the news of his death.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board is saddened by the passing of Ali Zia. The entire PCB family extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Ali Zia. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” the cricket board said in a statement.

Test captain Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Shadab Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, and others offered their condolences to Zia’s family. Ali Zia scored 8,579 runs and took 241 wickets in the 165 first-class matches he played.
