Due to ongoing renovations at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium and the Pallekele International Stadium, all three matches will be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS). The series will kick off on January 7, with the second and third T20Is scheduled for January 9 and 11.

The PCB emphasized that the tour will give the Pakistan squad valuable match practice ahead of the T20 World Cup. “Pakistan men’s T20I squad will travel to Sri Lanka next month to feature in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. All three matches will be played at RDICS in Dambulla on 7, 9 and 11 January. The tour will provide the side with valuable match practice ahead of next year’s global event,” the PCB said in a press release.

Pakistan have been in excellent T20I form recently, claiming a 2-1 series win over South Africa and dominating a T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

In the 2026 T20 World Cup, Pakistan are drawn in Group A alongside Namibia, the United States, the Netherlands, and arch-rivals India, with their campaign set to begin on February 7.
