PAK vs BAN: Second Test on a Knife-Edge After Das and Mehidy’s 165-Run Partnership

Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz put up a strong fight with a 165-run partnership for the seventh wicket on day three of the second Test, reducing Pakistan’s lead from 26/6.

At Tea, Bangladesh is 193/8, trailing Pakistan’s 274 by 81 runs.

After being in trouble at 26/6, Das and Miraz dominated the second session. Das scored his 18th half-century, while Miraz hit his eighth. The partnership ended when Khurram Shahzad caught and bowled Miraz for 78 and then dismissed Taskin Ahmed for 1. Shahzad now has six wickets, his best Test figures.

Das is unbeaten on 83 and approaching his fourth Test century.

Earlier, Shahzad dismissed Zakir Hasan (1), Shadman Islam (10), and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (1). Hamza also removed Mominul Haque (1) and Mushfiqur Rahim (3). Shahzad then got Shakib Al Hasan (2), leaving Bangladesh struggling.

Bangladesh is currently trying to recover with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (33) and Litton Das (13), who have added 49 runs for the seventh wicket.

Bangladesh had bowled out Pakistan for 274 after choosing to field first. Mehidy Hasan Miraz took five wickets, and Taskin Ahmed took three.

For Pakistan, Shan Masood (57), Saim Ayub (58), and Salman Ali Agha (54) scored fifties. Babar Azam made 31 runs off 77 balls and has now gone 15 innings without a fifty in Test cricket.
