The board confirmed that a total of USD 225,000 will be distributed to the squad by July 2025.

In an official statement, Oman Cricket explained that the delay in payments was due to “procedural” reasons, despite ICC regulations stating that prize money should be paid out to players within 21 days of the board receiving it from the ICC.

Alongside the announcement about payments, Oman Cricket also addressed the walkout by 11 senior players, including Aqib Ilyas and Zeeshan Maqsood, ahead of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Muscat last year. The walkout came just hours before the tournament and was prompted by the pending payments. According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Oman captain Kashyap Prajapati even left the country to seek work opportunities in the United States.

In its statement, Oman Cricket said it had repeatedly assured the players that their payments would be made in line with ICC regulations. The board criticized the walkout as a “deeply concerning episode,” calling it an “irresponsible” move that “insulted” the team, staff, and the nation.
