Olly Stone won’t be playing in the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to a right groin injury. Multan Sultans will request a replacement for him. Stone got injured during his first match against Islamabad United on February 20 and had to leave the field without completing his fourth over.

Multan Sultans are currently leading the points table with three wins in as many matches. They will play against Peshawar Zalmi on their home ground today. In their last game, under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, Multan Sultans convincingly defeated Lahore Qalandars.

Despite Lahore Qalandars’ attempt to defend their total of 166, Rizwan played a key role with 82 runs before leaving the field with over 50 runs still needed for victory. Multan Sultans faced a tough situation until Iftikhar Ahmed’s impressive performance in the final over secured a win with six balls to spare.

Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, has been struggling in the current PSL 2024 season. Despite a good effort from the captain in their recent match against Karachi Kings, Zalmi posted a modest total of 154 runs, which wasn’t enough against Kieron Pollard’s strong performance.
