Shaheen Afridi and Noman Ali were the standout bowlers, each claiming four wickets in South Africa’s second innings, with Noman finishing the match with an exceptional 10 for 130.
Chasing 226 on Day 4 with eight wickets in hand, South Africa suffered an early setback when first-innings centurion Tony de Zorzi was trapped LBW by Afridi on the third ball of the day. Noman, who had two wickets overnight, quickly added Tristan Stubbs to his tally as South Africa faltered. Mohammad Rizwan almost added another wicket, missing a stumping chance off Noman to Ryan Rickelton.
Rickelton steadied the innings while Dewald Brevis played an attacking 54, beginning with a streaky boundary that evaded the slip cordon and following it up with a 15-run over off Noman. Brevis continued to take the game to Pakistan, hitting a four off Hasan Ali and a maximum over mid-wicket to bring up his fifty. However, Noman struck back with a magical delivery that drifted in before sharply spinning away to clip the top of off-stump, ending the dangerous 73-run stand and completing his 10-wicket match haul.
Sajid Khan’s introduction from the other end immediately made an impact as Rickelton was caught behind, and he later removed Senuran Muthusamy with the help of a review. Afridi finished the innings in style, dismissing Kyle Verreynne and cleaning up the tail with the wickets of Prenelan Subrayen and Kagiso Rabada, sealing Pakistan’s 93-run win.
