Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 due to a side injury, sidelining the fast bowler for an indefinite period. The injury occurred during Rawalpindiz’s match against Karachi Kings, where Naseem bowled just 2.2 overs, conceding 26 runs and taking one wicket.

Rawalpindiz’s medical team assessed Naseem and later confirmed that he will not be able to participate in the remainder of the tournament. The franchise officially announced the news via a media statement on Tuesday, April 7, while also noting that a replacement for the pacer has yet to be named.

“The team’s medical staff are closely monitoring his recovery and are targeting a possible return towards the end of the tournament, subject to his rehabilitation progress and fitness clearance,” the statement read.

The release emphasized the franchise’s commitment to supporting Naseem through this challenging period. Rawalpindiz highlighted the bowler’s importance to the squad and expressed hope for his full recovery.

“Rawalpindiz stood firmly with Naseem during this challenging period and remained fully committed to supporting him through his recovery. His presence in the squad is invaluable, and the entire franchise looks forward to seeing him back on the field stronger than ever,” the statement added.
