Nair, playing a captain’s role, scored 112 runs against Uttar Pradesh, guiding Vidarbha to yet another dominant win in the tournament. His innings, marked by graceful stroke play and smart decision-making, was key to the team’s success.
With his performance, Nair’s run tally for the tournament reached an impressive 542 runs from just six matches, including a personal best of 163* against Chandigarh. He has now scored four centuries in the competition, making him the second-highest run-scorer of the season, behind Mayank Agarwal. While in the 80s during his innings against Uttar Pradesh, Nair achieved a remarkable feat—becoming the player with the most runs in List A cricket without being dismissed. He surpassed New Zealand’s James Franklin, who held the record with 512 runs since 2010.
