Nahida Secures Spot in ICC’s 2023 Team of the Year

Australian players dominated the team, with five inclusions, and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu was named captain. Nahida, the left-arm spinner, stood out by taking 20 wickets in women’s ODIs in 2023, making her the second-highest wicket-taker of the year.

She had a remarkable moment in the series against Pakistan when she played a key role in the second ODI’s Super Over. Nahida took two wickets in five balls, holding Pakistan to seven runs, helping Bangladesh win and even the series.

In the third ODI against Pakistan, Nahida’s three-wicket haul contributed to Bangladesh’s series victory.She did a good job in the home series against India, grabbing six wickets with an average of 15.
