Following an alarming incident during a net session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Comilla Victorians and Bangladesh national team fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has received assurances from his franchise that he has not sustained any internal head injuries.
Reports emerged that Rahman was struck in the head while returning to his run-up, prompting immediate medical attention at Imperial Hospital. However, according to a statement released by the Comilla Victorian franchise, scans conducted on Rahman’s head revealed no internal damage.
The franchise physiotherapist, Zahidul Islam Sazal, provided insight into the incident, stating,
During practice, a ball struck Mustafizur Rahman directly on the left parietal area of his head, causing an open wound. We applied a compression bandage to control the bleeding and swiftly transported him to the Imperial Hospital.
The statement reassured fans and well-wishers that Rahman’s injury was confined to an external area, with no signs of intracranial bleeding detected during the CT scan. Rahman underwent a surgical procedure to address the open wound and is currently under the close supervision of the Comilla Victorians’ medical team.
