In a significant achievement, Mushfiqur Rahim has become the second batsman to surpass the 3,000-run mark in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The accomplished wicketkeeper-batsman reached this milestone while representing Fortune Barishal in their match against Comilla Victorians at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
This landmark follows in the footsteps of Mushfiqur’s teammate, Tamim Iqbal, who recently achieved the same feat in the previous game against Khulna Tigers, becoming the inaugural member of the 3,000-run club in the franchise-based T20 league.
Mushfiqur’s journey to the 3k-run club took 114 innings, showcasing his consistent form. In the ongoing BPL, he notched up his second fifty in three matches, contributing a valuable 44-ball 62 before departing as Barishal posted a total of 161 for nine against Khulna in the latest fixture.
Tamim, the Barishal skipper, had achieved the milestone in his 91st innings, setting a remarkable benchmark in the league’s history.
