Hardik Pandya’s side has managed just one win in their first four matches. After beginning their campaign with a victory over Kolkata Knight Riders, MI have since suffered consecutive defeats against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Despite their position near the bottom of the table, MI continue to boast a strong squad built around a solid Indian core supported by several international stars. However, concerns remain over the form of key players such as Tilak Varma and Jasprit Bumrah, who have yet to make a significant impact in the tournament despite recent success at the T20 World Cup.
The MI top order is expected to feature a blend of experience and explosiveness, with Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton providing aggressive starts in the powerplay, while Suryakumar Yadav anchors the middle order.
Rohit Sharma, who picked up a hamstring concern in the previous match against RCB, is expected to be fit for selection, although his availability remains a key talking point for MI ahead of the fixture. Meanwhile, Suryakumar has had an inconsistent run so far, scoring 106 runs in four matches at an average of 26.50, reflecting a mixed start to the season for the T20 captain.
