The past few days have been eventful for the former Indian captain, as the 42-year-old participated in the grand Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant pre-wedding festivities in Gujarat’s Jamnagar before heading to Chennai.

Having steered the Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title in the previous season, the veteran cricketer hinted at a new chapter without explicitly mentioning the league or divulging details about his forthcoming role, leaving fans intrigued.

In a rare social media appearance on Facebook, Dhoni tantalizingly stated, “Can’t wait for the new season and the new ‘role’. Stay tuned!”

During the previous season, Dhoni predominantly batted towards the latter part of CSK innings. However, he has yet to confirm whether he will continue as captain for IPL 2024.

After clinching the title last year, Dhoni was quizzed about retirement prospects, but he evaded the question, suggesting that it would be an easy way out. Instead, he expressed his intent to return as CSK captain if his physical condition allowed.

CSK is scheduled to kick off its campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22. Subsequently, they will face Gujarat Titans in a rematch of the previous IPL final on March 26, followed by a match against Delhi Capitals in Delhi on March 31. Their phase one fixtures will conclude with an encounter against the SunRisers in Hyderabad.
