In a turn of events, Mominul Haque finds himself joining the ranks of Rangpur Riders for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a stark contrast to his previous experiences of being overlooked in the tournament’s drafts. The seasoned Test specialist, long expressing his desire to explore white-ball formats, now prepares to make his mark in the T20 arena.

Addressing reporters after a practice session at the Bashundhara Sports Complex, Mominul expressed a blend of anticipation and gratitude for the opportunity. Despite initial setbacks, he remains optimistic about his role in the team and acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding his participation.

“Though it’s natural to feel a bit disheartened, I didn’t let it frustrate me. I maintained hope and kept working hard,” Mominul shared candidly. Working closely with Comilla Victorians’ coach, Mohammad Salahuddin, he prepares diligently for any role assigned by the team management.

Reflecting on the nature of Bangladesh cricket, Mominul emphasizes the abundance of opportunities it offers to dedicated players. “Bangladesh cricket is dynamic; opportunities arise frequently. It’s about seizing them when they come your way,” he remarked.

As the BPL progresses and the team undergoes changes, Mominul remains focused on making a meaningful contribution whenever called upon. With foreign recruits like Will Jacks already making an impact, Mominul awaits his chance to showcase his skills and affirm his versatility in the cricketing arena.
