There are not even 10 days left for the 15th edition of the IPL to begin. But in the meantime, the popular cricket league is facing a security threat. On Tuesday (March 15) night, Mustafizur Rahman’s team Delhi Capitals bus was attacked by miscreants. The team bus was severely damaged.
However, no one was injured, according to Indian media sources. The IPL authorities have also confirmed this. Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged at Colaba police station in Mumbai on Wednesday (March 16).
West Bengal’s popular daily Anandabazar reported that the bus was parked next to a five-star hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday night. That’s where 5-6 unidentified people attacked. Attempts were also made to break up. While the identity of the attackers is unknown, all of them are said to be members of the transport wing of Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
It is also learnt that the bus from Delhi has been brought from Uttar Pradesh. That’s why the attackers are angry. MNS workers asked why the buses were not taken from any local transport company. Mini cars running on buses and fares from Delhi or other cities are being inserted without using cars in Mumbai. Drivers in Mumbai are not getting jobs. That’s why they’re protesting.
Meanwhile, mumbai police has registered an FIR under sections 143, 147, 149 and 427 of the IPC against five-six unidentified persons in the case. Later, two persons , Prashant Gandhi, Santosh Yadav and one more MNS worker were detained for questioning. Those arrested are being questioned to find out who else was involved in the attack on the bus.
