Pakistan vs Australia Preview:

Pakistan( PAK ) is set to face Australia( AUS ) in their 3rd T20I match during the Australia tour of Pakistan, 2026. This match is scheduled to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, February 01.

Pakistan have completely outplayed a reshuffled Australian side, winning the first two matches with ease to wrap up the series. They look settled as a unit and will head into the final game full of confidence, aiming to complete a clean 3–0 sweep on home soil.

The top order has been in excellent touch. Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, and Salman Agha have all chipped in, with Saim stealing the spotlight in the opener with a blistering 40 off 22 balls. Salman then produced a match-winning knock in the second game, smashing 76 from just 40 deliveries. Farhan is equally capable of setting the tone early and will be eyeing another aggressive start, with a quick 30-plus score very much on the cards.

In the middle order, Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam have brought calm and control, ensuring the innings stays on track. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz have handled the finishing duties, launching into the bowlers at the death with clean hitting and plenty of intent.

Pakistan’s spinners have been the standout performers so far, accounting for 16 of the 18 Australian wickets across the two matches. Saim Ayub has even chipped in during the powerplay, often striking at key moments. Once the middle overs arrive, Abrar Ahmed, Nawaz, and Shadab take charge, and their variety has consistently troubled an Australian batting group that lacks experience against quality spin.

Australia’s struggles on slower surfaces have been the defining factor behind their defeats, although conditions in the final game are expected to be more batting-friendly. Still, Pakistan’s spinners have found ways to trouble everyone. Experienced names like Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Josh Inglis will be keen to turn things around, while Matthew Short and Mitch Owen are still settling into their roles.

Head and Marsh are likely to go hard from the outset, targeting the powerplay before spin comes into play. Short provides stability once set, and Inglis along with Cameron Green have the power to clear the ropes in the closing overs. Marcus Stoinis, who has missed the first two games, could be drafted in to add depth, offering late-order hitting and a handy seam option.

With the ball, Australia are expected to stick with Xavier Bartlett and Cooper Connolly at the top after a decent showing that yielded four wickets between them. Mahli Beardman and Adam Zampa have also played their part, sharing seven wickets so far. Zampa remains Australia’s key spinner, and if he can apply the brakes through the middle overs, the visitors will give themselves a fighting chance.
