Marnus Labuschagne will rejoin Glamorgan for two County Championship matches in late May, as part of his preparation for Australia’s World Test Championship (WTC) final in June.
Labuschagne, returning for his fifth straight season with Glamorgan, will feature in home fixtures against Northamptonshire and Middlesex. He steps in as one of the club’s two overseas players alongside Asitha Fernando, replacing Colin Ingram, who will take a short break ahead of the T20 Blast.
“It’s great to have Marnus back,” said Mark Wallace, Glamorgan’s director of cricket. “He’s very much part of the setup here, and even though it’s just for a couple of games, it’ll be great to welcome him back to Wales.”

Labuschagne is being considered for a potential opening role in Australia’s WTC final lineup. With Travis Head likely to return to the middle order and uncertainty surrounding Sam Konstas’ place, Labuschagne’s experience and versatility could prove vital. He has previously opened for Queensland and once for Glamorgan last season, where he scored 23 and 111 against Middlesex in Cardiff.
