Kohli’s milestone adds to his legendary status
This century extends Kohli’s lead over Sachin Tendulkar in terms of ODI centuries, moving four hundreds ahead of the Master Blaster in this format, and placing him second on the all-time list with 84 international centuries. Among active players, he is far ahead of Joe Root, who has 58.

India dominates South Africa
Kohli (102) and Gaikwad (105) propelled India past the 300-run mark, stitching a commanding 195-run partnership. South African bowlers struggled to contain the pair—Keshav Maharaj conceded 70 runs in 10 overs, while Corbin Bosch gave away 62 in 7 overs. India ended the innings at a massive 358/5, taking full control of the match.

This sparkling performance not only underscores Kohli’s enduring class but also signals a potent start for India in the series.
