In a much-anticipated move, both Australia and West Indies unveiled their playing elevens for the upcoming first Test in Adelaide, setting the stage for an exciting clash. Aussie skipper Pat Cummins, confirming the lineup changes, announced the return of Cameron Green to fill the void left by David Warner’s retirement from the longest format. Adding to the shuffle, Steve Smith is set to take on the role of opener in Test cricket.

On the other side, West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite shared the exciting news of three debutants joining the squad. Middle-order talents Kavem Hodge and Justin Greaves, along with pacer Shamar Joseph, are all poised to make their Test debuts in this series.

Following the reshuffle prompted by David Warner’s departure, Steve Smith’s move to the top order opens up the number four spot for Cameron Green. The two-match Test series between Australia and West Indies kicks off on January 17 in Adelaide.

Speaking about his new role, Green expressed confidence, saying,

I don’t feel any pressure. Obviously, replacing someone like Steve is pretty tough. But I’m just going to play my own way. But I’m obviously grateful for him putting that in his mind and thinking of me. I think he’s super excited to be opening up. I think it’s a win-win,
